On 25 September 2024, at the invitation of H.E. the Ambassador of Italy, Mr Paolo Dionisi, and the Commanding Officer of the ITS Montecuccoli Cdr Alessandro Troia, Counsellor Dr Jean-Pierre A. Verbiest attended a reception on board the ITS Montecuccoli, an Italian Navy “dual use” multipurpose combat ship on port call at Laem Chabang port in Thailand, while on mission in the Asia Pacific area. This ship can be used for both military tasks and disaster relief activities to help civilians. The visit was also an opportunity to meet and talk with the Italian Deputy Minister of Defense Hon. Matteo Perego di Cremnago.
