Deputy Permanent Observer at UNESCAP, Dr Jean-Pierre A. Verbiest attended the 5th Session of the Committee on Macroeconomic Policy, Poverty Reduction and Financing for Development at the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific on 19-21 November 2025. The committee extensively discussed the macroeconomic and fiscal implications of Climate Change, suggesting to fully incorporate climate change in country macroeconomic policy frameworks. The impact of climate change on economic policies of the Pacific Island States was highlighted.
