Deputy Permanent Observer at UNESCAP, Dr Jean-Pierre Verbiest attended the 12th Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development on 25-28 February 2025.

This Forum assesses annual progress in the region on some of the Sustainable Development Goals, namely Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), Goal 5 (Gender equality), Goal 8 (Decent work and economic growth), Goal 14 (Life below water) and Goal 17 (Partnership for the Goals). Notable progress in the Asia-Pacific has been achieved in Goal 3; Goal 8 and Goal 14 have achieved far too slow progress; There are insufficient indicators for Goal 5. Goal 17 appears on track.
