On 3 July 2023, the Embassy attended the opening ceremony of the Session of the National Assembly by His Majesty the King. This is the first time the ceremony was held in the new building of the Parliament. The Embassy was represented by Counsellor and Charge d’Affaires a.i. Dr Jean-Pierre A. Verbiest.

The occasion was also the opportunity to interact with the diplomatic community in Bangkok and with newly elected Members of Parliament. A number of Senators had also been invited to attend the ceremony.
